Job Summary

The Osher Center for Integrative Health ( OCIH ) seeks a strong Programs Manager to design and implement an OCIH affiliate network across the University of Utah, support the integration of wellness services into the health system and develop connections with the other ten Osher Centers across the US and Sweden. OCIH supports the professional and personal well-being of our faculty and staff, alongside a well-being service line that promotes the personal wellness of our patients, employees, trainees, and community. OCIH is a complex unit of the Senior Vice President for Health Sciences with several locations (Resiliency Center, PEAK Health and Fitness, Skaggs Patient Wellness Center, embedded clinical programs, and The Wellness Bus) and about 30 full-time employees.

Reporting to, and working in collaboration with the Administrative Director, the Programs Manager will manage the seed grant program, build a cohesive affiliate network, coordinate events, support the delivery of annual/biennial conferences and symposiums, provide administrative support to the Chief Wellness Officer and coordinate multiple working groups across clinical, educational and research functions, Additionally, they will take on ad-hoc tasks and assignments to promote the center’s mission and activities and support the directors as required.

Essential Functions

1. 60% Program Manager of the OCIH Affiliate Network within University of Utah

a. Project manage working groups including but not limited to research, education and clinical.

b. In collaboration with Administrative Director, design, implement and manage Affiliate program within University of Utah

c. Lead planning and execution of annual symposium(s), internal and external conferences as applicable

d. Develop and manage annual seed grant program in coordination with Research, Clinical and Education Directors.

e. Provide administrative support to Research, Clinical and Educations Directors

2. 20% Executive Assistant to Chief Wellness Officer

a. Manage complex scheduling and administrative tasks for CWO

3. 20% Department Wide Projects

a. Support development and management of department wide data management system and other department wide initiatives as applicable.

Problem Solving

Often selects from a predetermined list of alternatives and sometimes recommends or changes policy and procedure based upon amount of discretion given by department. Problems would be referred to superior based upon predetermined guidelines set by the department.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Completion of provided supervisory training within one year of employment may be required. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.

Preferences

Experience working within the University of Utah Health

3-5 years of project management experience

Excellent critical thinking skills to problem solve and make decisions with attention to detail.

Experience in health and wellness-related field.

Content knowledge in health promotion, population health, and/or health behavior change.
