Job Summary

This position will have responsibility for the institutional biobanking research initiative, Total Cancer Care, and will provide research project support both internally and with the Oncology Research Information Exchange Network ( ORIEN ).

Responsibilities

The program manager works under the direction of the Associate Director of Research for Total Cancer Care soliciting guidance as necessary and consulting with team members.

Essential Functions:

Program Management

· Oversee daily operations of the Total Cancer Care team

· Oversee enrollment in multiple clinics

· Work closely with the biorepository for sample collections

· Manage research projects related to Total Cancer Care

· Oversee IRB applications/renewals and overall correspondence with the IRB

· Develop study related documents as needed

· Track and report enrollment metrics

Staff Supervision

· Hire and directly supervise a team of coordinators

· Support staff in decision making, project planning, and goal setting.

· Provide education, mentoring and guidance.

Perform other responsibilities as required.

Prioritizes and helps optimize processes needed to achieve study goals. Functions independently under minimal supervision. Possesses a solid understanding of good clinical practice and research processes.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Completion of provided supervisory training within one year of employment may be required. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.

They should have a solid understanding of the overall research infrastructure at HCI . Successful applicants will enjoy performing a variety of tasks, will have exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and demonstrate excellent communication skills. He/she prioritizes and helps optimize processes needed to achieve study goals functioning independently under minimal supervision.

5+ years research experience.

Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, FDA , HIPPA and IRB regulations.

Current IRB CITI Course training.

Excellent communication and prioritization skills.

Project Management Experience.

Demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined.
