Under minimal supervision, responsible for planning, organizing, directing and/or controlling all aspects pertaining to accounting and finance functions of Huntsman Cancer Institute’s shared resources including financial management operations pertaining to areas including (but not limited to) invoicing, collections and credits, budgeting, expenses, fiscal reporting, and profitability. Acts as a catalyst between the department and its customers and staff to ensure continuity and quality of service and care.
1. Responsible for all areas of financial management for HCI’s shared resources.
2. Processes monthly billing and distributes invoices to internal and external customers. Also tracks receivables in HCI’s accounting system and follows up on outstanding invoices.
3. Provides usage and capacity data for each shared resource funded by the Cancer Center Support Grant. Assists in other capacities as needed for theCCSGprogress reports and competing renewals.
4. Meets with each shared resource director twice a year to review the financial status of each resource. Also assists with the preparation of the annual operating budgets.
5. Prepares the annual report required by the University and federal regulations (Uniform Guidance).
6. Prepares monthly reconciliations for each resource.
Often selects from a predetermined list of alternatives and sometimes recommends or changes policy and procedure based upon amount of discretion given by department. Problems would be referred to superior based upon predetermined guidelines set by the department.

Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in a related area of assignment or equivalency and 4 – 6 years of progressively more responsible management experience. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department.
Completion of provided supervisory training within one year of employment
