Job Summary

Machining and post processing of prototypes for medical devices.

Note: The location for this position is in Clearfield (633 Falcon Hills Dr, Clearfield, UT 84015).

Responsibilities

Performs machine operation, inspection, and post processing to build prototypes.

Supports design engineers and prototype shop staff to build prototypes

Performs preventative and corrective maintenance for the equipment in the prototype shop

Maintains an organized and clean prototype shop

Ensures compliance to applicable policies, procedures and work instructions

Minimum Qualifications

Journeyman machinist or equivalency required. A welding and silver soldering back ground and a working knowledge of Mill, Lathe, Drill Press, Shear, Brake and general shop machinery and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required. Dependent upon department of assignment, a valid Utah driver’s license may be required. This position is not responsible for providing care to patients.

Preferences

Welding skills preferred but not required

  • Associates Degree or completed trade school study relevant toward CNC machine manufacturing.
  • Experience working in a highly dynamic, tight tolerance, complex part prototyping and/or production environment.
  • Experience with CNC machine operation, maintenance, and shop organization.
  • Ability to effectively complete inspections to demonstrate that parts meet drawing and specification requirements.
  • Experience with assembly, finishing, heat treating, laser marking, brazing and welding is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and to interact/coordinate activities with others.
  • Ability to read and effectively interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
