Job Summary

IT Warehouse Technician is a key role in the IT Asset Management ( ITAM )) Lifecycle. ITAM is intrinsically tied to the core competency of the Utah Education and Telehealth Network ( UETN ). UETN provides network and IT Solutions for Educational institutions (Higher Education, K12, Libraries and Other (Zoo, Aquarium)) throughout Utah.

As an IT Warehouse Technician, you will help us maintain the UETN warehouse and use your technical knowledge to process assets (deploy, retire or swap), find the best vendors and pricing for network and IVC classrooms consumables, stage equipment in the lab (backup role to the Lab Tech), use software tools to make work easier, participate in annual audits. The warehouse is the hub for the UETN Network, Backbone, and Interactive Video Conference ( IVC ) Classroom installations.

Not only will you get to work with every department in Technical Services but you will be part of the team improving the way that we run the warehouse and manage the IT Asset Management ( ITAM ) Lifecycle.

This is a Category I position: Mandatory Required on Campus or at Health Care Facilities.

Responsibilities

· Process IT assets to be deployed, swapped or retired.

· Handling and moving network and classroom devices using a cart, pallet jack or forklift.

· Keep IT asset data up to date.

· Help with annual asset inventory.

· Help with annual consumables audit.

· Orders and maintains a stock of consumables in the warehouse.

· Racks and labels network equipment before deployment.

· Collaborate with IT Asset Management Team to improve the way we do things.

Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking.

Often: Walking, standing, bending, lifting – up to 50 pounds.

Seldom: Bending, reaching overhead, lifting – over 50 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in a computer related field and two years of experience or equivalency recommended. Demonstrated computer skills, human relations and effective communication skills are required.

Must have experience working in one or more the following roles:

· Data Center Technician

· Desktop/ LAN Technician

· IT Service or Help Desk

· IT Purchasing Analyst

Must have experience working with online tools and be adaptable to using tools. This role works with a base set of the following tools:

· IT Asset Management Tool

· Service Desk Tool

· Direct Messaging Tool

· Project Management Tool

Experience with any of the following tools is a plus.

· Filemaker

· Jira Service Desk

· Confluence/Wiki for knowledge base

· Slack for DM

· Webex Teams for DM

· Wrike for Projects
