Job Summary

This position is a part of the College of Nursing Systems and Technology ( CON SYSTECH ) team, which supports and maintains the College of Nursing ( CON ) technology operations. This position will work with other SYSTECH members to support computer equipment, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, network equipment, Operating Systems, and other software via the trouble ticketing system and the SYSTECH Zoom help desk. The SYSTECH team also provides synchronous virtual meeting spaces to faculty, staff, and students using Zoom and other technologies.

The individual in this position will become the primary point of contact for all CON Interactive Video Conferencing ( IVC ) infrastructure, including cameras, projectors, microphones, and other audio-visual equipment in classrooms and conference rooms. In addition, the individual in this position will work closely with the CON’s Distance Education specialist in providing support and Quality Assurance/Control for the College’s Distance Education program.

This position reports to the CON IT Project Manager. The individual in this position consults with the IT Project Manager to order technology in advance to meet the IVC needs of the College of Nursing. The position will also work with internal and external vendors to maintain and upgrade the CON’s AV infrastructure.

Other IT responsibilities as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for College of Nursing faculty and staff via trouble tickets and the Systems and Technology Zoom room help desk.
  • Support Audio/Video equipment (cameras, microphones, projectors, etc.) in the College of Nursing classrooms and conference rooms.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot synchronous online classes.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalency and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within areas of specialty.

Preferences

  • Preference is given for a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalency.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills,
  • Previous Distance Education and classroom/conference room technology experience,
  • Strong interpersonal communication and troubleshooting skills,
  • A+ certificate is highly desired
