This exciting open-track clinical position is with a growing, nationally recognized Occupational Medicine (OM) program and includes responsibilities in areas of clinical, research, and teaching. In addition to a primary emphasis on clinical care, it also includes classroom and/or distance-based teaching, and student guidance. It may optionally include research.

Job Summary:

Serve as a core clinical faculty member in the Occupational Medicine program in the NIOSH -sponsored Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health ( RMCOEH ), Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of Utah. The RMCOEH is an internationally recognized leader in occupational injuries and illnesses. This position includes diverse roles including: a primary emphasis on occupational medicine clinical practice, teaching up to one OM graduate courses per year, and mentoring residents in the Master of Occupational Health ( MOH ) program. Dependent on interest and experience, the faculty member may develop and/or maintain an independently funded research program.

Technical Responsibilities:

Provide full-spectrum, primary to tertiary occupational medicine clinical services in the RMCOEH’s occupational medicine clinics. This also includes frequent precepting and mentoring of residents in the clinics. Collaborate with or otherwise assist other OM and occupational health faculty (Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Injury Prevention, and Safety) with consultative projects, studies and/or research projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Must work well with a team of clinical professionals. Co-oversight and mentoring of clinic staff is expected.

Qualifications:

Successful completion of residency training in OM, and Board Certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine in Occupational Medicine. If a recent graduate or currently graduating, then Board Certification within 2 years of graduation is required. For each successive advancement in rank, at least 5-7 years of experience in OM is required per rank.
