The Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training is seeking an experienced and established faculty candidate for their CAATE accredited Athletic Training program. The position is a full-time career-line (clinical) faculty, serving as Coordinator of Clinical Education, at a rank commensurate with academic and clinical experience.

Primary Responsibilities

•Manage clinical education within the Athletic Training program, which may include:

oManaging and evolving student competences and skills assessed at clinical education experiences.

oCollecting and analyzing data associated with clinical education, including student and preceptor evaluations.

oManaging preceptor training and evaluations.

oAssigning students to clinical education experiences and managing clinical sites.

oManaging student learning in the part-time on-campus Athletic Training Clinic.

•Teach within the Athletic Training program, based on area of expertise.

•Perform service, as appropriate, to the department, college, university, profession, and community.

Qualifications

Candidates must have earned a relevant master degree prior to the start of their appointment, possess certification from the Board of Certification ( BOC ) for the Athletic Trainer, be eligible for licensure as an athletic trainer in the State of Utah, have a National Provider Identification ( NPI ) number, and at least 3 years of clinical athletic training experience. Preferred qualification will be an earned doctorate (academic, PhD/EdD, or clinical, DAT ) or residency trained, and at least 2 years of teaching experience in a CAATE accredited program.

The Athletic Training Program is housed within the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training and the Department is located within the College of Health, one of 5 units within University of Utah Health (Colleges of Health and Pharmacy, Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Dentistry.
