Teaching & Learning Technologies at the University of Utah seeks a qualified and highly motivated professional to assist in the development and support of online instructional course materials for online programs. The designer will also work with the learning systems administrator and instructional designers. She or he will also conduct trainings and provide support to faculty and instructors across campus. Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, excellent customer service skills, and proficiency using instructional, multimedia, and web technologies.
•eLearning Development Support (35%): Conduct quality assurance and accessibility reviews for online courses. Fix online course elements identified by instructional designers.
•Learning systems support (25%): Review and test Canvas updates, along with other learning technologies.
•Website and Knowledge Base Support (25%): Update and maintain theTLTwebsite. Write and edit knowledge base articles that supportTLTservices and supported learning technologies.
•Training (15%): Assist in developing and conducting training workshops and online training materials. Provide instructional technology and teaching support to university faculty and staff.

Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology or related field, or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). 2-4 years experience in instructional technology, preferably in an online education environment required.
Department Specific Qualifications
•Experience with anLMS, preferably Instructure Canvas
•Experience with software applications for instructional authoring, courseware design, multimedia, image editing, and web-based development.
•Evidence of effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
•Evidence of excellent customer service skills.
•Proven ability to work with limited supervision and achieve deadlines.
•Evidence of excellent problem-solving skills, including technical troubleshooting capability.
•Ability to be a team player and a willingness to work in a team environment.
•Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and produce design documents, including storyboards.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
•Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 2 years of experience developing instructional or training materials for clients or an equivalent combination of education plus experience.
•Experience designing online courses and working within a learning management system.
•Experience teaching or training one-to-one or in a group setting.
