Job Summary
This position develops and maintains campus-wide contacts to promote University department sales through the Campus Store. Makes sales calls to department campuses promoting computer products and solutions to the University community. Provides extensive knowledge and experience base to the University community. Takes orders and gives information regarding products, pricing, and system configuration. Serves as back-up sales floor supervisor.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
• Display a customer first attitude.
• Make a minimum of 10 sales calls a week to campus departments.
• Meets monthly budgeted sales goals for Utech.
• Meets with supervisor and other solution providers on a weekly basis to update current projects and bids.
• Follow up with department orders within seven days of delivery date.
• Place special orders with the appropriate order specialist within 24 hours of receiving request.
• Verify 100% accuracy on all orders.
• Coordinate delivery of items within 24 of receiving items.
• Attend and participate all Utech supervisor meetings
• Opening and closing department as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree in related field or its equivalent with 2-4 years sales experience applicable to assigned University department. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. Depending upon department of assignment, preference may be given for a background in hospitality, marketing, communications, public relations, or athletics.
Preferences
Qualities for this position include:
• Associate degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or equivalency.
• Two years of retail experience.
• Two years selling computer hardware and software.
