Job Summary

Works on the ColoCare study, a patient cohort of colorectal cancer patients: https://healthcare.utah.edu/huntsmancancerinstitute/research/labs/population-sciences/ulrich/colocare-study.php.

Prepares, verifies and enters data into computerized information systems. Contacts study patients to conduct phone-based interviews and/or for recruitment and follow-up. Assists in miscellaneous office duties and research activities. Position is temporary.

Responsibilities

•Schedule follow up assessment/visits with participants; assure study visits and collections are done at appropriate time intervals.

•Collect questionnaires and biospecimens from participants in clinic, and entering into the research records, as well as storing source documents into participants’ study files.

•Recruits and consents study participants.

•Perform phlebotomy

•Collect, review, and enter data into study databases. Researches and evaluates all documents for accuracy and completeness to ensure correct data is entered.

•Prepare materials for study visits, including remote collection kits for participants.

•Review clinical/surgical schedule for recruitment and follow-up appointments.

•Ensures proper collection, processing and shipment of specimens.

•Update research regulatory folders/binders as needed.

•Perform additional study duties as necessary, such as recruitment and follow-up activities

Minimum Qualifications

Preferences

No previous experience necessary; interest and willingness to learn is highly preferred. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are preferred. Applicants who demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Previous data entry experience and previous patient/customer contact preferred.

Driving may be possible.
