The Office for Equity and Diversity is seeking a Graphic Designer with experience in both print and electronic media, who will work in a creative, innovative, fast-paced environment with an intimate, tight-knit marketing team to address communication needs, conceptualize ideas, and create visual designs using sophisticated computer equipment and software programs to produce artwork for marketing materials within established budgets.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of and experience with social justice work. We are looking for someone who is an avid learner keen on keeping up with changes in the digital and design industry and anxious to share with your peers. The candidate should have an eye for detail and a strong understanding of design principles.

• Researches and studies ideas related to each project; conceptualizes original work to communicate intent of project
• Designs a wide range of artistic material such as signs, banners, posters, brochures, and web graphics using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, and/or Microsoft Office Suite in the Macintosh environment.
• Creates various marketing materials related to the office’s annual events, including poster designs, digital flyers, banners, etc.
• Meets with Brand Manager and leadership team to conceptualize projects and ensure that brand is maintained
• Manages and maintains all social media accounts. Stays current with affiliated departments’ topics/events for sharing and relationship building
• Produces artwork for all electronic outlets, such as the blog, newsletter, and social media
• Writes and edits pieces for the blog/newsletter
• Manages web calendar for office’s and affiliates’ events
• Other duties as assigned

Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, or a related area plus 3 years of related experience and a portfolio at the time of the interview required; demonstrated effective communication skills; the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines; and a commitment to provide excellent customer service required.
