Job Summary

A graduate student assigned directly to an externally funded research grant (5000 fund only) and doing research for that project.

The Utah AIDS Education and Training Center ( AETC ) is affiliated with the University of Utah Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases. Our mission is to educate healthcare professionals on HIV infection, including prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and psychosocial issues. We are seeking a Graduate Research Assistant to join our team who is pursuing a degree in public health, statistics, health education or a related field.

This position will develop an evaluation tool to be used to evaluate online Canvas courses in development around topics relating to HIV / AIDS , STIs, and related subjects.

This position requires a solid knowledge of standard statistical analysis procedures and familiarity with at least one statistical programming language such as SAS or R. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

This position is considered Category IIA : Not required on campus and has the ability to telework remotely for the duration of the University of Utah’s response to COVID -19. An employee hired into this role will be responsible for providing space, telephone, printing, networking and/or internet capabilities at the telecommute location and agree to the terms of the University of Utah campus and Health Academics COVID -19 Telecommuting Agreement.

•Program planning, implementation, and evaluation

•Knowledge of basic epidemiology

•Knowledge of Biostatistics

•Knowledge of monitoring & evaluation techniques

•Experience with survey design

•Experience with HIV and/or infectious diseases

•Previous evaluation experience

•Experience in public/population health

•Data management skills

•Experience with SAS or R
