Job Summary

Supports fundraising activities, grant writing, appeals, donor stewardship, and management of events within the College of Humanities.

The Development Specialist Graduate Assistantship is a two-year term available to Ph.D. candidates in the College of Humanities.

The Development Specialist Graduate Assistant shall receive a stipend of $15K per year.


1.Researches donors and prospective donors to determine their giving capacity and philanthropic priorities, best form of contact, and career background information.

2.Assists in organizing and implementing fundraising campaigns, including the College’s 50th anniversary campaign in the year 2020.

3.Identifies and maintains information on donors and prospective donors, including helping with gift stewardship of donors through regular thank you letters at the department and college level.

4.Writes marketing content supporting development activities and programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience which includes fundraising, grant and publication writing, planning and implementing special events and programs is preferred.

Applicants must be a current Ph.D. candidate in the College of Humanities who have completed their qualifying exams and areABD.
