The Department of Film & Media Arts seeks to hire a Specialty Media, Facilities and Equipment Manager. The individual in this position will be responsible for formulating, planning, managing, and supervising the complex production facilities and equipment involving the teaching of film, media arts, and animation in the Department.
This position is considered Category I: Mandatory and required on campus or health care facilities to support on-site operations. Employees hired into this category will be required to be physically located at the Film and Media Arts Building if they are healthy and without COVID -19 symptoms.
Computer lab management, including a proficiency with Mac and PC platforms and a broad array of production software (Adobe Creative Cloud, Avid Media Composer, ProTools, Microsoft Office, Excel).
Experience and aptitude for analyzing and creating specialized equipment checkout room systems, media libraries, and production and lab spaces.
Experience and ability in designing and offering training on new, industry-standard professional equipment.
Management of the academic budget, purchasing, purchase orders, vendors, and reporting.
Demonstrated proficiency in large data systems.
Proven organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalency (2 years experience equivalent to 1 year education) in film production or a related field.
Two years of supervisory experience of professional staff or student workers in media production.
Professional experience working with equipment checkout systems.
Experience in media technology and equipment management, including film and video production gear (HD/2K/4K video and 16mm film), media hardware (players and projectors), and computer hardware and software.
Experience conducting and presenting research reflecting industry-standard equipment purchase options.
Expertise in repair and maintenance options for film and video equipment and ability to promote
cost-saving and maintain positive relationships with vendors.
MFA or other terminal degree in film production or a related field.
Familiarity with film and video exhibition, including 16mm production and projection.
Experience collaborating with faculty.
