Job Summary

The Facility Operations Manager will be responsible for managing maintenance operations of all athletics facilities, performing routine maintenance tasks in multiple function areas (carpentry, electrical, HVAC , plumbing, etc.), and conducting scheduled water testing and general maintenance on facility pools.

Responsibilities

•Valid Utah CPO Certification (can obtain after hire date)

•One year experience in facility maintenance

•Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and HVAC systems.

•Manage all facility operations in athletic department facilities through project and work progress management

•Ability to perform manual labor

•Ability to carry out tasks in a reliable, productive and expedient manner and be able to adhere to strict deadlines

•Ability to follow all policies, risk management, safety precautions, rules, regulations and emergency procedures established at the facility

•Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with all relevant stakeholders, including student athletes, coaches, and administration

•Ability to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to functions and may include require working during the day, evening, weekends, or holidays

•Experience maintaining and repairing commercial swimming pool mechanical equipment, operating a water regulating, filtration and purification system, and conducting relevant daily water tests.

Minimum Qualifications

Inspect all athletic facilities to determine functional systems, detect malfunctions and conduct repairs. Including:

oPerforming minor electrical maintenance including but not limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubs, ballast, sockets, fuses, appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.

oPerforming minor plumbing maintenance (replacement or repair of leads in toilets, drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.).

oPerforming minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (preparing surfaces and using a brush, sprayer or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles etc.).

oReconfiguring, installing, positioning, and remounting modular offices (furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage containers, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks.

•Prepare work orders for outside parties and ensure all ensuing work is performed at or above department standards.

•Conduct scheduled water testing and general maintenance of facility training and recovery pools. Including:

oRepairing, maintaining and cleaning mechanical equipment for pool operation (water filtration and chemical purification systems, intake and outlet valves, chemical feeders, pumps, compressors, seals, vacuum equipment, etc.).

oRegulating water temperature and levels.

oSubmitting water samples for health department testing.

oTesting and maintaining pool chemical levels.
