Provides support and assists with the overall administration and development of School of Medicine Office of Admissions programs. Responsibilities include the ability to interact with medical school applicants, faculty, medical students, premedical advisors and Dean’s Office staff in a professional manner. Opportunities for growth and creativity.
•Administrative duties, i.e. phones, emails, events, interview day duties, applicant assessments.
•Applicant interactions – Including assessment day duties, participate in department events.
•Process medical school applications and documents, including letters of recommendation, payments, etc.
•Participate in all aspects of the applicant interview day including tours, escorting applicants, etc.
•Establishes and maintains confidential files.
•Provide back up to admissions staff.
•Other duties as assigned.

High school diploma or equivalency required. Four years full time secretarial experience or equivalency, word processing and spreadsheet software skills and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.
Knowledge of business writing preferred.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
An associate’s degree in related field, or equivalency is preferred. Ability to use logic and reasoning to prioritize tasks; computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
The candidate must have strong communication skills, be a team player, self-starter, detail oriented and excellent organization skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and a commitment to provide excellent customer service required.
