Be a part of the Biology Department’s administrative team, interacting in a diverse and friendly environment, working in the department’s main administration office.
Position is responsible for various assignments including but not limited to: assisting professors in the preparation of research funding proposals, and a range of administrative support activities such as: preparing correspondence, scanning documents, ordering supplies, coordinating travel itineraries, preparing reimbursement requests, scheduling meetings, answering and routing phone calls, problem solving and other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalency required. Four years full time secretarial experience or equivalency, word processing and spreadsheet software skills and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.
Knowledge of business writing preferred.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
The preferred candidate will encompass strong customer service and organizational skills, be detail oriented, with an ability to multi-task and prioritize. They are dependable, reliable, self-motivated, and have the ability to work under deadlines with frequent interruptions. Strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, and web search preference. A valid Utah driver’s license and University experience is a plus.
