Job Summary

Performs engineering work of moderate complexity requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria while carrying out a sequence of related engineering techniques.

Specific areas of expertise:

1. Strong programming background (Engineering background is +)

2. Strong basis of scripting languages python and bask (understanding of TCL +)

3. Hands-on experience of Task automation

4. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

5. Basic understanding of simulation and digital verification techniques

6. Basic knowledge of hardware description languages like Verilog or VHDL

7. Basic understanding of digital system design and basic electronics circuits

Responsibilities

1. Understands design verification requirements.

2. Collaborates with other software and hardware design teams.

3. Determines suitable testing environments and verification tools for the given task.

4. Analyzes the test and verification environment to minimize bug exceptions.

5. Writes up the final test and verification procedure and analyzes results.

6. Develops pre-and post-silicon testbenches and carries out tests under minimum team member supervision.

7. Plans, designs, and constructs or supervises the construction of components and/or systems using established engineering practices.

8. Performs tests, device investigations, and calculations in order to evaluate performance of engineering designs.

9. Prepares reports on performance results and makes recommendations for improvements.

10. Coordinates the accomplishment of program tasks and goals with other engineers. May supervise the activities of associate engineers and technical assistants.

11. Selects appropriate equipment, materials, techniques, procedures, and systems for specific projects.

12. Provides design and creative guidance to University faculty, staff, and students. Works with customers and management to define engineering specifications.

10. Assists in maintaining a safe and effective work environment.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education) and two years engineering related experience required. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required.
