Job Summary

At the Natural History Museum of Utah we place a strong emphasis on providing an exceptional experience to every guest who visits the museum or participates in any of our programs. Education Program Facilitators assists with the delivery of education programs for K-12 students and teachers. This position collaborates with Education Program Specialists to assist with the coordination, design and production of activities as related to the field trip program. Education Program Facilitators facilitate field trips, engage with guests, provide exceptional customer service, manage supplies, report attendance daily, and carry-out museum policies.


Deliver Field Trip programs; this includes field trip greeting, gallery presence, lunch and departure coordination with support from on-site team. Provide outstanding customer service.

Other projects as assigned to assist with development, refinement, and evaluation of the field trip program.

Meetings and training; participate in Guest Services training, volunteer trainings, on-site team meetings, and department meetings.

•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.

•Must possess a valid drivers license;

•Must be able to manage/lift program supplies weighing up to 50 pounds

•Must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb up/down stairs.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years experience as a classroom assistant in a related academic area, or equivalency; knowledge and understanding of a variety of teaching methods in order to adjust activities/training session to include participants of different ages; a thorough knowledge of related academic subjects in order to participate in developing classroom activities/programs; and demonstrated knowledge of teaching methods and communication skills to conduct educational activities and/or training sessions in a clear and concise manner required. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills are also required.
