The Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking a rehabilitation psychologist for a full-time faculty position. Rank will be dependent upon the selected applicant’s qualifications. Duties will include maintaining a clinical practice involving evaluation and treatment services to rehabilitation patients. Our providers work with individuals living with a variety of conditions and undergoing associated rehabilitation activities, including TBI , stroke, SCI , amputation, MS, and orthopedic or other pain concerns. We further provide evaluation and treatment services pre and post bariatric surgery, post severe burns, and undergoing cardiac rehabilitation. Further opportunities for practice development around these conditions and other behavioral health or rehabilitation related conditions exist. As a faculty member, the individual would be expected to support the leadership, service, educational, and research goals of the University of Utah’s School of Medicine. Education requirements include completion of a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA -accredited graduate school, completion of a one-year internship at an APA -accredited program, and completion of a one or two year postdoctoral fellowship in rehabilitation or health psychology. Attainment of board certification within five years of hire is strongly encouraged. Applicants already board certified, or eligible to apply for board certification, in health or rehabilitation psychology are preferred.

The position will include planning for transition to the 75-bed Craig H. Neilsen Rehabilitation Hospital, which will be one of the most advanced rehabilitation facilities in the nation and will serve as a catalyst for the further development of the University’s rehabilitation programs.
