Job Summary

Assist the Executive Director of Real Estate Administration with daily activities that support the long-term vision of the department, primarily focused on including property acquisition, disposition, leasing, development, investment, create plans and make recommendations to the Executive Director regarding opportunities to facilitate implementation of the Research Park Strategic Vision. Supports the University of Utah’s goals and mission. Acts as a catalyst between departments, faculty, staff, students, and external entities to ensure continuity and quality of service.

Responsibilities

1.Assist Executive Director of REA with real estate transactions to include: leasing, property acquisition, disposition, and investment, development and planning, and construction meetings.

2.Develop proformas, perform financial analysis, coordinate legal review with the Office of General Counsel and other processes required to assist with evaluating real property transactional opportunities.

3.Track and monitor projects and transactions to ensure they are progressing on schedule and within budget.

4.Coordinate, schedule, and conduct property tours with tenant and landlord representatives.

5.Coordinate centralized procurement & A/P process for third party leases with REA’s accounting team.

6.Act as the Executive Director’s delegate or representative in construction, development and planning meetings.

7.Manage workflow associated with transaction review, legal review, and approval process.

8.Coordinate updates to the University’s lease database in partnership with the department Administrative Manager.

9.Market and promote new and existing programs and services to internal and external customers.

10.Participate in university-wide committees to establish customer/patient service and administrative plans and policies.

11.Facilitates cooperative and collaborative community and institutional relationships.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related area, or equivalency; eight years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communications skills required.

Master’s degree in Business Administration, or related area preferred.
