Create and manage usable items for use in online collections of the J. Willard Marriott Library. This includes digitizing and post-processing a wide range of media, including film, audio tape, transparencies, books, and loose leaf material. Some troubleshooting of hardware and software issues may also be required. Must work and communicate well in a team environment, and act as a lead on some projects.
This is a 0.5 part time benefited position.
Scan various material using digital scanners, recorders, and cameras. Post-process images to meet online and/or archival needs. Document technical and descriptive information for online assets onto spreadsheets. Import items into an online digital asset management system and perform quality control. Maintain production area in a neat and orderly condition. Exhibit the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Exhibit attention to detail. Lead small teams on some projects.
Bachelor’s degree in History, Art, Humanities, Library or Museum Sciences or a related field or equivalency required. Proficient in using various computer software programs, which includes but not limited to, Excel, Microsoft Word and the Internet. Background in using database management tools. Knowledge ofMARCcataloging and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are required;
Some supervisory experience may be preferred.
This position is not responsible for providing patient care.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Working knowledge of Adobe Suite.
Working knowledge of cameras and digitization hardware.
Demonstrated proficiency and capability with information technology systems in the context of an academic Library.
Reading, writing, or speaking skills in a second language.
