Job Summary

PBS Utah’s Pledge Producer / Benefits Coordinator will assist in the planning and execute our on-air membership drives and on-air fundraising projects; oversee and manage the membership benefits for members; maintain a high level of data integrity within the PBS Utah’s development database; respond as needed to customer service cases and inquiries from viewers, members and staff; supervise the Benefits Assistant and work as a proactive team member within PBS Utah Development.

Currently this is predominately a work-from-home position with at least one day a week working in the Membership office. This position may revert to more time in the office, or even a fully in-office position, based on pandemic conditions.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the planning, managing and execution of PBS Utah’s on-air fundraising campaigns.

• Oversee online donation pages and inbound call center scripting, including system preparation and functionality.

• Manage ShopPBSUtah.org storefront website.

• Identify and propose member benefits and gift premiums, manage sources of items for member benefits and ShopPBSUtah.org.

• Coordinate member benefits with internal staff and direct fulfillment vendors.

• Execute the daily management and fulfillment of member benefits and gift premiums, including accounting and reporting.

• Work with PBS Utah production, marketing, and DVD duplication vendor to produce DVD copies of select programs.

• Manage required data in Unite ( PBS Utah’s Salesforce database) to provide accurate data for programs, benefits and gift premiums.

• Coordinate with internal staff, university staff, vendors and volunteers to support fundraising campaigns.

• Work closely with programming, production, traffic and engineering departments to execute and troubleshoot on-air fundraising campaigns.

• Work with PBS staff, PBS station colleagues, and vendors to exchange on-air fundraising ideas, research and best practices.

• Provide excellent customer service to PBS Utah viewers, members, and colleagues by promptly responding to emails, mail, and calls in a timely manner.

• Work closely with membership team to assist with other activities within the PBS Utah development team.

• Maintain a high level of data integrity within PBS Utah’s development database.

• Display professionalism, honesty, enthusiasm, and dedication.

• Support the goals and mission of the department and organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, related field, or equivalency; three years of fund-raising experience which includes direct solicitation of contributions, volunteer leadership support, written and verbal presentations, and strategy and market development are required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. Experience in grant or proposal writing and a background working with local print and electronic media is preferred. Demonstrated negotiating skills are also preferred.

Department Specific Qualifications:

• Word processing, data entry, and/or customer service experience.

• Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Efficient typing skills and speed (45+ WPM ).

• High level of professional courtesy and communication skills

• Ability to use time and resources effectively and efficiently.

• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Lifting up to 30lbs, carting up to 200 lbs.

Preferences

• Two years of non-profit fundraising preferred.

• A background working with electronic media is preferred.

• Knowledge of Salesforce preferred.

• Experience with shipping and mailing preferred.

• Experience with production (television, film, theatre, etc.) is preferred.

• Knowledge PBS and PBS Utah programming is preferred

• Demonstrated cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to trust and be mindful of diverse voices on the team and in the community is preferred.

• The ability to speak fluently in a second language would be highly valuable.
