Job Summary

Health Sciences Strategy is a dynamic work environment in which team members contribute to an array of projects aimed at achieving core health sciences missions. The Strategy team focuses on the management and analysis of complex databases, completion of business analyses (e.g., market assessments and pro forma financial statements), and the design and articulation of business strategy with applications in health care delivery and markets. The employee reports to the Director of Strategy.

Successful candidate will have, at minimum, a Bachelors degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, data science, or a related field. Masters degree preferred.

Experience in data preparation and manipulation using Python or R.

Experience interacting with complex relational databases usingSQL.

Expertise in interactive dashboard developement (e.g., D3, plotly, R Shiny).

Experience inNLPpreferred.

Experience in business strategy, business development, healthcare transformation, finance.

Candidate must be able to work cooperatively and effectively in the context of a large, highly complex academic medical center.

Effective communication skills, intellectual creativity, analytical acumen, and a strong work ethic are needed.

Responsibilities

Coordination of simultaneous projects is essential to the success of Health Sciences Strategy. The following is representative of work performed but is not all-inclusive:

• Manage data-driven, strategy narratives under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Strategy and the Director of Strategy.

• For each narrative, assess data needs and manage requisite data acquisition and cleaning.

• Effectively manage all data exploration, modeling, visualization, and dashboard creation for each narrative.

• Work closely with Strategy team members to ensure project relevancy and accuracy

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and 6-8 years of related experience in the field or related area is required.

This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferences

Bachelors degree in a related field with 0-5 years of work experience. Masters degree preferred.

Expertise in R, R Shiny, Python, andSQL.

Experience inNLPpreferred.

Additional programming experience or coursework preferred.

A portfolio (e.g., GitHub) of relevant, completed projects will be helpful in assessing candidate qualifications.

Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required.
