Job Summary

University of Utah Health (UHealth) is in the process of implementing a Space Management Information System ( SMIS ) to track room and occupant information for all Health Sciences Buildings (on and off campus). Building floor plans, room and employee information are stored in the application. The Field Validation process will deploy employee and student staffed teams to perform a walkthrough of all Health Sciences buildings to verify the accuracy of building and room data (graphical floor plans and room and occupant data).

Responsibilities

This position will work with representatives from the Space Management Information System Core Team and/or Department representatives. This position will be a member of a team or work alone to physically inspect every room in a building and validate room and occupant attributes and perform data entry in an EXCEL spreadsheet and make notations on a floorplan in Bluebeam of any discrepancies. This position will meet regularly with a member of the core team to address questions and issues encountered during the walkthrough. Following Field Validation walkthroughs this position is responsible for correcting any inconsistencies in the data collected and revisiting rooms if needed to assess the accuracy of the data collected. This position may also be assigned project related data entry and floor plan reviews from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years data entry experience or equivalency required (1 year of college education is equivalent to 2 years of related work experience). Proficiency in the use of data entry equipment and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required. The hiring department may require a minimum typing ability.

Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferences

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

•Experience with Architecture floor plans

•Experience with AutoCAD, Revit or other architectural drawing software applications
