Job Summary
The Information Services (IS) department within University Advancement at the University of Utah is excited to bring on a new Data Analyst to our strong and capable team. The IS department is comprised of data and systems professionals and provides direct support to all departments within the University Advancement division. With significant growth in the broader University Advancement division, the IS department is growing its team to provide continued reliable and high-quality service to University Advancement end-users.
The Data Analyst position works within the Advancement Office, which oversees and coordinates fundraising and alumni relations efforts at the University of Utah. This position is responsible for writing programs and reports in order to support University development activities. Additionally, this position provides technical support for data analysis and visualization, report creation, and database loads and extracts. The position requires a broad range of technical knowledge and the ability to communicate and work with all levels of University development staff. This position will be a dual reporting position specifically supporting the advancement data needs of University of Utah Health.
The University Advancement division is a fast-paced and goal-oriented organization. A successful applicant to this position will enjoy the problem-solving process, answering complex business questions using SQL and other languages and take great pride in delivering high-quality results. Applicants for this role must be comfortable collaborating with end-users to better understand their business questions.
The projects of this position will be primarily focused on the reporting needs of University of Utah Health Advancement and will dual report to the Senior Director of Information Services – Main Campus and Director of Advancement Services – Health. This position will collaborate with various members of the larger Advancement Services team including System Administrators, other Data Analysts, Business Systems Analysts, and Trainers.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor’s degree in related area (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). Two to four years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
