Assist with clinical research data collection for the Disease Centers at Huntsman Cancer Institute (e.g., Genitourinary Cancers, Hematological Malignancies, Supportive Oncology and Survivorship, Women’s Cancers, Neurologic Cancers). Access various clinical data sources to abstract information necessary for clinical care metrics, publications, and clinical research. Perform quality checks on data. Assist with the development of data structures to capture clinical elements across all related cancer types. Maintain work practice documents that outline all data collection activities.
This position is considered Category IIA : Not required on campus and has the ability to telework remotely for the duration of the University of Utah’s response to COVID -19. An employee hired into this role will be responsible for providing space, telephone, printing, networking and/or internet capabilities at the telecommute location and agree to the terms of the University of Utah campus and Health Academics COVID -19 Telecommuting Agreement.
Bachelor’s degree in a Social or Behavioral Science, Liberal Arts, or a field related to the area of research, or equivalency; one year of experience in research and analytical techniques; demonstrated statistical and quantitative analysis experience; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preference to candidates with experience in research analysis, medical terminology, ICDO coding, working with physicians, and reviewing medical charts. An interest in long-term employment can compensate for lack of experience in these areas.
