Job Summary

Pioneer Theatre Company in Salt Lake City seeks a Properties Master, position available beginning August 2018.PTCis a professional theatre company working underLORTagreements withAEA,SDC, andUSAproducing a seven show mainstage season that runs from August through May. This is a full time benefited position, salary is commensurate with experience. Under the direction of the Production Manager this position serves as a key member of the production team. The Properties Master collaborates and creatively solves problems with guest scenic designers and facilitates the execution of show properties and set dressing on time and on budget. The Properties Master supervises the Properties Artisan and over-hire and volunteer labor. Professional design experience is a plus but not required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the day-to-day direction and prioritization of the prop shop staff, coordinating with Stage Management to support properties in rehearsal.

• Representing the Properties department at production meetings and tech rehearsals

• Collaborating effectively with designers to achieve their vision for all productions

• MaintainPTCproperties inventory

• Hands-on fabrication of props

• Purchasing supplies

Required skills and experience:

• Shopping skills and knowledge of local and national sources. Ability to establish and maintain established relationships with local vendors.

• Strong working knowledge of period styles, crafting, floral arranging, soft goods, upholstery, casting, scenic painting, furniture carpentry, and computer skills

• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 pounds

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required
