Job Summary

Part-time opening for individuals with strong customer service and the availability to work a variable schedule. Will perform a variety of duties in support of groups using the Conference Center, including greeting groups; setting up tables, chairs, catering, and AV for groups; and performing a variety of other client support and administrative duties.

A mandatory background check is required and is paid for by the department.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and change the course of action quickly, being flexible.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Provide outstanding guest service.
  • Sets up tables, chairs, catering, and AV for groups using Conference Center.
  • Uses banquet event orders to ensure the client’s needs are met.
  • Assists clients with AV equipment and other needs on-site.
  • Attends scheduled staff meetings.
  • Receives, greets, and directs visitors to the appropriate person or office.
  • Answers telephones, provides assistance, and directs customers to the correct person or office.
  • Creates and maintains files.
  • Answers questions about the organization and associated activities.
  • Assists with word processing, data entry, and internet searches.
  • Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a current University of Utah student.

A high school diploma or equivalency is required. One year of full-time customer service experience or equivalency, demonstrated human relations, and effective communication skills are also required.
