Job Summary

If you are interested in a position that works directly with the Marriott Library’s collection of more than 3 million books, this position is directly responsible for the timely and accurate management of material including shelving books in the library collections, shelf reading the collection, and performing scheduled check in of returned material. This position also assists with projects related to shifting collections and the general care of the library resources.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include shelving, shelf reading, shifting, check-in, material searches, marking, inventory. May also assist with Book Sales and various projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a current University of Utah student enrolled 6 undergraduate credit hours or 5 graduate credit hours during the fall and spring semesters.

For the Library to be able to appropriately monitor hours worked, part-time employees are generally asked to restrict their work with the University of Utah to Library employment only, unless an exception is granted.

Preferences

Previous experience using a library. Previous experience in detail oriented assignments. Ability to work independently on a variety of tasks and collaboratively in groups on assigned projects. Ability to speak English, to understand the alphabet, and push a loaded book truck and lift 25 lbs.
