The University Counseling Center (UCC) at The University of Utah enthusiastically welcomes applications for a 10-month Clinical Social Worker to become an integral member of our dynamic multidisciplinary team. This permanent position will be full-time (40 hours/week) during August 1 through May 31 each year. Responsibilities include intake assessment; individual and group counseling using a brief therapy model; providing direct crisis intervention services prevention one day per week; outreach, and consultation with campus partners; and other relevant duties as assigned. Opportunities for couples counseling, supervision, and training of masters level social work interns are also possible. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to working effectively from a multicultural orientation with our diverse college population.

Current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (L.C.S.W.*) certificate for clinical practice and two years directly related experience; demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team; ability to communicate verbally as well as in writing; and experience with conflict resolution when counseling individuals, couples and groups required. Experience working with community resources, instructing and supervising Social Workers, Interns and other caseworkers preferred. Five years of experience may be required in some areas.
*An L.C.S.W. is earned after completing 4000 hours of Social Work experience and a passing score on the L.C.S.W. exam.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
1.Previous experience in college student mental health counseling and crisis intervention.
2.Demonstrated commitment to working effectively from a multicultural orientation with our diverse college population.
3.Fluency in Mandarin or language other than English.
4.Familiarity with Salt Lake Valley community resources.
