Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, responsible for planning, organizing, and directing research project activities related to conceptualization, participant recruitment, data collection tool development and implementation, quantitative and qualitative data collection, data reduction and analysis, and reporting out of the scientific findings. Acts as a catalyst between the research team and clinical and community partners to ensure stakeholder input is valued and used and that project timelines and deliverables are met.

Responsibilities

1. Contributes to summarizing of extant literature relative to enhancing patient and community member participant engagement in existing evidence-based health promotion and disease prevention programs.

2. Markets and promotes new and existing programs and services to internal and external customers.

3. Facilitates cooperative and collaborative community and institutional relationships.

4. Oversees the development and implementation of qualitative and quantitative measures and data collection tools.

5. Conducts qualitative data reduction and analysis to ensure stakeholder input in the development of new tools to support participant recruitment.

6. Ensures competency of research staff to conduct clinical and community research through the development and/or presentation of educational programs and through on going staff training and oversight.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.
