The BCC certified or BCC eligible Chaplain in this position provides pastoral, spiritual and ecumenical care and support to patients, their families and staff.

Responsibilities
Responds to calls from units regarding spiritual and pastoral needs for patients and family.
Establishes and nurtures outside networks of members of the religious community to ensure specific spiritual and emotional needs of patients are addressed by appropriate ecclesiastical persons.
Organizes and promotes religious services for patients, their families and staff including weekly worship, memorial services, baptisms, weddings, anointing and coordinating bereavement needs.
Provides orientation to community clergy, volunteers and staff relating to services available by pastoral care staff.
Meets with direct patient care staff prior to visiting with patient and family to understand scope of needs and how to support multi-disciplinary treatment team.
Participates on committees and with the educational mission of the hospital.

Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
Ability to adhere to separation of church and state requirements as addressed in the Utah State Code.
Demonstrated respect and support for individual faith groups.
Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
Qualifications

Qualifications (Preferred)
Preferred
Candidate must be eligible for or possess BCCI Certification through the Association of Professional Chaplains or certification through NAJC or NACC.
Bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.
- Walking throughout a large hospital, safely entering and exiting patient rooms on ICUs, critical care units and in the emergency department.
