Job Summary
Career Coach for students in a variety of colleges. Educates, guides, and prepares students for the transition from an academic environment to employment. Coordinates activities between students, employers, and U of U departments. Designs and conducts workshops and supervises student internships. Organizes time effectively and has strong computer skills. Proactively manages a portfolio of students and coordinates activities between students, employers, and U of U departments.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a portfolio of up to 500 students.
2. Assists students with preparing resumes, interviewing skills, and searching for jobs electronically.
3. Develops and presents multiple training workshops to prepare students on aspects of the employment and job search process.
4. Utilizes department platforms such as Salesforce, Excel, Qualtrics, Acuity, and Handshake in working with students and colleagues.
5. Maintains accurate data and produces statistical reports on job placement, salaries, recruitment activities, and other information with strong detail and organizational skills. Assists in preparing and publishing annual reports.
6. Demonstrates success in outreach for developing external relationships. Team player that facilitates cooperative and collaborative community and institutional relationships.
7. Interacts with employers recruiting students and alumni. Conducts site visits to employers to develop and promote internships and career opportunities.
8. Demonstrates success in outreach for developing external relationships. Team player that facilitates cooperative and collaborative community and institutional relationships.
9. Conducts ongoing research to provide information and feedback about recruitment and after-graduation activities for students.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.
