Works with the UIT Cable Plant to include copper, fiber, engineering, and management teams to do the documentation, tracking, finalizing, and reporting of the UIT Cable Plant timekeeping, billing, budget and project tracking. Coordinates and collaborates financial and inventory information with the UIT warehouse, account executives, project managers, and finance teams. Provides input/recommendations about process improvements and budgets. Provides mentoring to the student intern program. Participates in training and team building activities.

Main Campus staff: Employees and/or functions designated as mandatory, requiring employees to be physically located on campus in order to maintain campus systems and operations if they are healthy without COVID symptoms.
U of U Health Academics Faculty and Staff: All employees necessary for the direct on-site support of clinical operations, patient care, and essential research activities if they are healthy without COVID -19 symptoms.
•Allocate cable technicians work hours to projects for billing.
•Verify project materials have been recorded and billed properly.
•Audit technician time logs to ensure all billable time has been properly documented to projects.
•Review service tickets and job statements for correctness and completeness before they are closed for billing.
•Close service tickets and job statements for billing.
•Perform audits of vendor invoices to ensure vendor billing meets contract compliance and reconcile any discrepancies with vendor.
•Make entries into the accounting and workflow systems.
•Track accounts payable and accounts receivable status.
•Create weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc financial status and progress reports.
•Coordinate, as needed, with the Accounting, Warehouse, Account Executive, and Project Management teams.
•Mentor student interns and assign them approved projects.
•Participate in process reviews and the implementation of innovations.
•Other additional duties that may be requested or required.

One year of experience performing accounting functions and preparing related reports, or equivalency; the ability to use standard office machines, calculators and data input terminals; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required.
Department Specific Qualifications:
Experience using Microsoft Office tools to include being proficient with Excel. Experience using enterprise billing software. Experience using workflow software. Excellent human relation and communication skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational skills and a focus on simple efficiency. Experience billing time and material (T&M) jobs.

Associates degree with a minimum of one year experience performing accounting functions and preparing related reports, or equivalency preferred.
Experience in the cable, or construction, or utilities industries preferred.
Understanding of network infrastructure preferred.
