The College of Humanities Dean’s Office is seeking a business specialist. Mutual respect and appreciation are highly valued within the College of Humanities. This position performs a variety of duties that range in level of complexity from clerical accounting such as managing receivables or serving as payroll reporter, to more complex such as reconciling accounts or preparing budget reports.
1.Supports financial functions for the Taft-Nicholson Center and the Peace and Conflict Studies Program.
2.Assists the Development team with deposits and donor stewardship.
3.Prepares UShop orders, electronic payment requests, and office travel reimbursements.
4.Serves as office purchasing card and petty cash custodian.
5.Manages Dean’s office equipment inventory.
6.Manages office e-Journal Entries and purchasing card reallocations.
7.Ensures transactions are accurate and have required back-up documentation.
8.Tracks and reports revenue and expense for selected events & programs. Assists with preparation of various accounting and financial reports.
9.Responds to a variety of accounting-related questions, such as inquiries from faculty administrators, staff, and other payees.
10.May support the college IT team, and newly developed degrees (medical humanities).

Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, plus two years full-time clerical accounting experience or equivalency required. The ability to understand, interpret, and apply University and departmental regulations; demonstrated spreadsheet skills; and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. Experience using software programs such as PeopleSoft or Kronos may be required for certain positions.
