Job Summary
Services bicycles in the Campus Bike shop for staff, students, and departments of the University of Utah. Maintains schedule and record of bicycle maintenance, requests parts and materials for job duties as needed.
Responsibilities
1. Maintain high level of customer service and professional attitude
2. Repair, examine, and service components of bicycles
a. Assembling/disassembling bicycle
b. Wheel truing basics
c. Crank arm/ bottom bracket replacement
d. Change derailleurs
e. Headset overhaul
f. Changing brakes, brake levers and shifter levers
g. Changing all kinds of cables
h. Limit screws adjustment (both derailleurs)
i. Center brakes & disc brakes
j. Chain check, replacement
k. Basic hydraulic maintenance understanding
3. Refurbish bicycles for sale
4. Maintain inventory of workshop
5. Clean and organize workshop
6. Maintain schedule, coordinate delay’s and changes through calendar
7. May set up, take down, or assist with special event parking.
The incumbent may be required to work overtime hours during the evening, weekends and holidays as required. They must wear appropriate clothing or uniform, and be able to withstand a high stress environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years related parking enforcement experience, or equivalency; a valid Utah’s Driver’s License; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required. Must be able to pass a background review.
Preferences
Two years related bicycle mechanic experience, or equivalency.
