The University of Utah, a member of the Pac-12 Conference, is seeking applications for an Assistant Director of Athletics Compliance to maintain the day-to-day oversight of the University’s Division INCAAcompliance program.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to, the following:
•Researching, writing, and issuingNCAArules interpretations;
•Assisting in the investigation and reporting ofNCAAviolations;
•Preparing and submittingNCAAand Pac-12 waivers;
•Developing and implementing a comprehensive rules education program for internal and external constituents;
•Supervising the monitoring of recruitment activities;
•Serving as the liaison to the Financial Aid Office;
•Developing and supervising subject-specific and large-scale audits;
•Evaluating and approving playing and practice seasons;
•Assisting with departmental drug testing program;
•Approving and monitoring institutional camps and clinics;
•Directing workflow for Compliance Coordinator and office interns; and
•Performing other special projects as assigned by the Director of Compliance and Associate Athletics Director for Compliance.
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Reasonable (1-3 years) progressive experience in anNCAADivision I compliance role; demonstrated comprehensive knowledge ofNCAArules, regulations, processes, interpretations, appeals and governance structure; demonstrated commitment to institutional control. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; excellent written and oral communication skills. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate proficiency in commonly-used technological processes such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases,NCAALSDBi, andNCAACA.
Juris Doctorate or Master’s degree; successful completion of theNAACEducation Certification program; experience in compliance and student-athlete educational programming at either the Division IFBSlevel, conference office, or theNCAANational Office; supervisory experience; proven experience in working with high-profile intercollegiate sports programs.
