Description: The University of Utah Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is seeking a radiologist who can serve as the Vice Chair for Clinical Operations. This individual is expected to promote the value of clinical imaging in our rapidly expanding health system. Among various responsibilities, the candidate is expected to oversee and provide clinical services in collaboration with section chiefs; establish and operationalize clinical staffing models; create new service lines; strategize clinical IT; integrate workforce and teaching in the clinic in collaboration with training program directors; assist translational research in the clinic; expand clinical network operations within the health system; interface with clinical departments, hospitals, and clinics; and improve quality of the clinical practice. The academic appointment will be at a rank of Associate or Full Professor.

Qualifications: The candidate should be American Board of Radiology (or equivalent) certified, subspecialty fellowship trained (or equivalent) in, but not limited to, abdominal imaging, musculoskeletal imaging, or cardiothoracic imaging. The candidate should be able to obtain an unrestricted Utah medical license. The candidate should have strong clinical, interpersonal, and leadership skills. The candidate should be able to develop innovative and collaborative operational strategies and metrics. The evidence of active engagement in academic radiology operations is strongly desired.

Facilities and Institution: The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences provides clinical services at the University Hospital, Huntsman Cancer Institute (anNCI-designated premier cancer center), and multiple major outpatient centers along the Wasatch Front where more than 2 million residents reside. A new ambulatory care center as well as a major outpatient center are currently under development. The Department operates extensive imaging resources, including multiple MRIs, dual-energy CTs, intraoperativeMRI, andPET-CT scanners within the health system. The Department offers an outstanding residency program and subspecialty fellowship programs. Pre-clinical imaging resources, such as microPET-MRIand 7TMRI, are also available. The clinical and academic operations are supported by outstanding administrative and IT teams. The University of Utah Health Sciences offer various leadership programs and research training opportunities for faculty members. Location: The University of Utah is located in Salt Lake City, in the foothill of the Wasatch Mountains at the western edge of the Rocky Mountains.
