The University of Utah College of Pharmacy, in collaboration with University of Utah Health Care Pharmacy Services and the Department of Family & Preventive Medicine – Family Medicine Division is seeking nominations and applications for a clinical track faculty member and clinical pharmacist who will practice at the University of Utah Madsen Family Medicine Clinic. This full-time clinical track position will be at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor and will be available in Fall 2018.

Responsibilities of the position are summarized below:

Teaching (40%): The faculty member will be expected to teach in the didactic curriculum of the College of Pharmacy, Physician Assistant Program, and School of Medicine, will coordinate 1-2 courses, and will serve as a clerkship preceptor for pharmacy students.

Clinical Practice (50%): The faculty member’s practice site will be in the area of family medicine at the U of U Health Madsen Health Center. The faculty member will be responsible to a U of U Health Pharmacy Services manager for practice responsibilities and will work together with a clinical track faculty partner. Practice site activities will include a combination of program development, professional consultation with medical team members and direct patient care. The faculty role within this team will be critical to the continued development of measurable patient interventions and overall clinical outcomes.

Scholarship (5%): Faculty are expected to participate in producing scholarly works, which may include clinical research, outcomes research, review articles, book chapters, and case reports. Presentations at local, regional, and national meetings will also be expected.

Service (5%): Participation on college, department, and university committees is expected. In addition, faculty members serve as advisors to student organizations, and are expected to be active in local and national professional service.

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Applicants should hold a PharmD degree and have completed a PGY2 residency in ambulatory or primary care and/or a Clinical Pharmacy Research Fellowship and have experience in developing and implementing pharmacy services in a primary care setting.

Applicants should demonstrate excellence in clinical practice, have a strong desire for teaching and scholarship in an academic environment, and demonstrate the ability to initiate clinical pharmacy services in a primary care clinic setting. Pharmacist licensure or eligibility for licensure in Utah is required.
