Neurocritical Care Physicians wanted to join the Department of Neurology at the University of Utah, Neurocritical Care Unit. The appointment may be at the assistant or associate professor rank in the career or tenure line program, depending upon qualifications. The Neurocritical Care Unit ( NCCU ) has 23 beds, portable Head CT scanning, invasive neuromonitoring, continuous EEG and state of the art technology (dedicated ultrasound and bronchoscopy equipment). The Unit has a new medical director, and a total of 7 multi-disciplinary neurocritical care physicians. Staffing model will include dedicated NCCU in-house daytime and night time shifts as well as clinical responsibilities in telemedicine neurocritical and emergency/acute care. The Unit has 5 Advanced Practice Clinicians (Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants) and a UCNS accredited fellowship program. The unit is also staffed by neurology and neurosurgery residents, dedicated neurocritical nurses, nurse educators, respiratory therapists, dedicated pharmacists and patient-care technicians. There is a wide range of neurological and neurosurgical subspecialties together with advanced endovascular neurology capabilities. Opportunities are available for clinical and/or basic research in the field. Applicants should be board certified or eligible for the neurocritical care boards.
