Psychology at the University of Utah Asia Campus, Incheon, South Korea.

The Department of Psychology at the University of Utah invites applications for two career-line faculty positions, beginning July 2015, for the newly established University of Utah Asia Campus (UAC) in Incheon, South Korea. Applicants with a Ph.D. in Psychology and teaching and research experience in any area are encouraged to apply, but we are especially interested in candidates who are able to teach undergraduate courses in Statistics and Research Methods. The primary focus of these positions will be undergraduate teaching, but candidates with research programs who can also supervise undergraduate research experiences will be given preference. Initial appointments will be for 1 or 2 years, but could be extended for additional terms. We are looking for faculty who are excited to help build this new program and will help support the development of cross-cultural research opportunities. All instruction and interaction with students and faculty will be in English, no knowledge of the Korean language is required.

The Department of Psychology has strong graduate and undergraduate programs and a long history of collaboration across its four traditional programs (Clinical, Developmental, Social, and Cognition and Neural Sciences; see http://www.psych.utah.edu). Based on the strength of the department in both research and teaching, Psychology was selected to be one of four programs representing the University of Utah as part of the Incheon Global Campus, which includes three other western universities (see http://asiacampus.utah.edu). TheUACwill open in September 2014; students enrolled there will study for 3 years in Incheon and spend the 4th year on the main campus in Salt Lake City.
