Position Description:

The Department of Educational Psychology ( EDPS ) invites applications for an Assistant Professor (Clinical) position. This will be a full-time, non-tenure track (career line faculty), renewable, 9-month appointment (16 August 2021 – 13 May 2022) in the Department of Educational Psychology in the College of Education.

Seeking a candidate who can contribute to the development and leadership of new undergraduate BA/BS degree program in EDPS . Specifically, this candidate will be responsible for helping develop and revise the degree curriculum, provide effective instruction for several core courses, supervise practicum experiences, recruit and advertise, and create and implement learning outcomes and an evaluation plan. The ideal candidate will have expertise in undergraduate teaching and program development, experience and interest in working with diverse student populations, the ability to develop collaborative working relationships within the college and across campus, and an aptitude for leadership. The

Principle Responsibilities:

•Teach six courses across the academic year including: Introduction to Educational Psychology, Ethics & Professional Issues in Behavioral Mental Health, Practicum, Capstone Seminar). Additional courses will be assigned based on education, experiences, and licensure (e.g., Interviewing & Counseling, Psychopathology, Introduction to Multiculturalism, Group Dynamics, Fundamentals of Behavior Change, Social Emotional Learning Strategies, Consultation & Collaboration, etc.)

•Help develop, deliver, and evaluate the undergraduate major/program. Examples of specific duties include but are not limited to the:

•Refinement of the proposed curriculum and degree map

•Development of courses including syllabi and textbook review

•Advertising and recruitment of students

•Selection of instructors and practicum supervisors

•Student advisement, evaluation, and field practicum/job placement

•Formative and summative evaluation of the new degree

•Serve on university committees on behalf of undergraduate major to enhance student and academic career success

•Attend all required department, college, and university events as a faculty member in the department (e.g., convocation, meetings).

•Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair

Minimum Qualifications:

•Ph.D. in School Psychology or Counseling Psychology or other closely related field such as Applied Behavioral Therapy

•Appropriately licensed or credentialed to provide instruction and supervision to students interested in becoming registered behavior therapists, psychological technicians in hospitals/clinics, crisis counselors, job coaches, etc.

•Demonstrated expertise in undergraduate teaching in areas related to psychology, counseling, and educational fields.

•Undergraduate teaching expertise

•Experience with diverse student and client populations

•Program development and evaluation interest and experience

•Leadership aptitude and skills

Program Information:

The undergraduate degree program in Educational Psychology was approved in September 2020. It will be the first non-teaching undergraduate degree program in the College of Education.
