The Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking a clinical neuropsychologist to provide evaluation and treatment services with rehabilitation patients. Rank will be dependent upon the selected applicant’s qualifications. The position will involve both inpatient and outpatient components. Inpatient components will include coordinating with inpatient rehabilitation psychologists and treatment teams to address evaluation and consultation requests, participation in treatment team conferences, and provision of education to residents and staff. Primary specialized treatment teams include stroke, TBI , and SCI . The position may also involve coordination of clinical coverage with other inpatient psychologists to address service needs. Outpatient components include completion of outpatient neuropsychological evaluations and treatment. This position may also include coordination with other providers/departments to support neuropsychological evaluation needs.

Opportunities exist for teaching and supervising graduate students, practicum students, interns, postdoctoral fellows, and medical residents. This includes responsibilities as Training Director of the postdoctoral fellowship and practicum program.

This position may also include leadership of a research program and applicants with a demonstrated interest and background in stroke, TBI , and SCI research are encouraged to apply.

Education requirements include completion of a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from an APA -accredited graduate school, completion of a one-year internship at an APA - accredited program, and completion of a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology according to published guidelines (i.e., Houston Conference) for specialization in clinical neuropsychology. Current board certification in clinical neuropsychology and at least 5 years of experience is strongly preferred.

Neilsen Rehabilitation Hospital, which is one of the most advanced rehabilitation facilities in the nation and serves as a catalyst for the further development of the University’s rehabilitation programs. We are looking for energetic academically-oriented neuropsychologists who will support this recent transition and help us expand our footprint locally, regionally, and nationally.
