Position Summary: The University of Utah College of Nursing invites scientists to apply for a tenure-line (tenure-seeking) faculty position. We seek innovative scholars to enhance and expand our high priority research programs in the areas of diabetes and metabolic disorders, cancer, aging, palliative care, women’s health, health disparities, informatics and/or health services research. College of Nursing: Currently ranked in the top 25 for the nation in National Institutes of Health ( NIH ) funding, the College of Nursing is a focal point for clinicians and researchers to collaboratively improve individual, family, and community health and quality of life. The University of Utah College of Nursing prepares nurses at all education levels with a current enrollment of more than 750 students. The College of Nursing has eight endowed Chairs, and is home to the Gerontology Interdisciplinary Program and a NINR T32 Interdisciplinary Training program. The Emma Eccles Jones Nursing Research Center provides infrastructure and support for the College of Nursing research mission, and includes a biostatistics core.

Principal Functions and Responsibilities: Faculty in the tenure line engage in active independent and team-based research and scholarship in their area of concentration. Opportunities for teaching in the doctoral, post-doctoral or other programs are matched to the candidate’s expertise.

Criteria: Candidates must have an earned research doctorate in nursing or a related field. Licensed registered nurses are strongly preferred. Candidates should have evidence of scholarly publications in refereed journals and demonstrated ability to generate extramural funding in one or more of the priority areas. Candidates are strongly recommended to have completed post-doctoral studies in their field of interest Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
