Job Summary

Supports alumni engagement, board, volunteer, and event management, and fundraising activities within the David Eccles School of Business.


The incumbent in this position plans, organizes, and directs the strategy and coordination of the David Eccles School of Business Alumni Network Board of Directors, board-related special events, meetings, mentoring programs, and other related activities. Responsible for coordinating promotion for events with marketing team, and works closely with fundraising team to prospect and identify potential donors, board members, and volunteers.

The ideal candidate will be a people person who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment. They will be motivated, organized, creative, forward-thinking, and able to manage multiple projects at once. They should have a passion for higher education and the value of alumni engagement and development.

1.Management and overall strategy of David Eccles Alumni Network Board of Directors; recruitment, cultivation, stewardship, and overall management of board and subcommittee activities, social events, and meetings.

2.Team lead of the Eccles Alumni Forum event series, both virtual and in-person; includes strategy and theme, securing speakers, promotion, and event management.

3.Strategy and coordination of the ConnectU mentoring program, including planning related events. Work closely with the Eccles School’s Business Career Services department to market programs to students and alumni, develop programming, set goals, measure results, and manage alumni and student social events.

4.Team lead on graduate level Alumni Affinity network and event programming, to include MSF , MSIS , MSBA , MAcc, MHA , and MRED programs.

5.Team lead on local and regional alumni network and event programming, including St. George, Park City, Utah County, and Weber County networks.

6.Work closely with four committees of David Eccles Alumni Board to develop alumni outreach events and programming, involve board members in student activities, social media programming, and marketing; and assist in managing other board-related events and activities.

7.Assist in overall alumni outreach and event strategy and event management, in collaboration with with alumni relations and development team. Play a pivotal role on team with developing future alumni engagement on digital and virtual platforms.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalency; and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. Experience which includes fundraising, grant and publication writing, planning and implementing special events and programs and a successful track record in raising donations is preferred.


Experience that includes alumni relations, volunteer board management, and planning special events is preferred. Excellent writing, communication, and budgeting skills are preferred, as well as experience with Word, Excel, and database management systems.
