Job Summary

The Professional MBA program at the University of Utah David Eccles School of Business is seeking a talented, energetic professional to provide recruiting and admissions support in a fast-paced, professional, customer-focused, and results driven environment. The Admissions Coordinator will collaborate with recruiting, admissions, and marketing staff to drive enrollment growth for the Professional MBA program through the development and execution of recruitment strategy and building relationships with individuals and corporations. The position requires extensive phone, email, and in-person interaction with prospective students, along with current students, alumni, faculty, vendors, and other School and University staff. This person must have strong communication, customer service skills, and project management skills. This person must also be an effective team player and an excellent organizer capable of handling multiple tasks, projects, and relationships at one time.


Admissions and Recruiting:

  • Significant interpersonal communication with prospective students over the phone, as well as in-person and through e-mail
  • Discuss program details with prospective students through outbound and inbound phone calls
  • Meet one-on-one with candidates to discuss their specific concerns and needs and mentor and advise candidates on an academic path that best fits their situation
  • Maintain accurate records and files through the CRM system (Salesforce). This includes professional and academic details about the candidate and logging all interactions (in-person meetings, phone calls, and emails)
  • Consistently follow up and stay connected with those who have expressed interest in pursuing their MBA

The primary role of the job is recruiting and admissions, but may help with event and class Management as follows:

  • Plan, implement, and ensure the quality of PMBA class nights by communicating with and making appropriate arrangements for the faculty, as well as arranging logistics for the students. This includes snack and dinner nights, IT and equipment, course materials, and any issues related to student needs for class evenings
  • Plan and implement PMBA events as required, for example, PMBA alumni events, graduation, and recruiting events
  • Responsible for reconciling bills and billing them to the appropriate account
  • Serve as a resource for PMBA students to answer questions and advise on issues associated with all components of the program
  • Maintain accurate and detailed event records and collect records of suggested improvements for future events
  • Work with the manager on budget tracking and evaluation for PMBA events and other projects as assigned
  • Assist with new programs, graduation events, and other projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years’ related experience, or equivalency.

  • Experience in executing recruitment programs at a university, college, or company
  • Knowledge of general business management curriculum, including familiarity with other institutions’ courses and programs
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service to professionals in phone, email, web conference, and in-person settings
  • Ability to complete multiple tasks in an organized manner, prioritize to ensure a balanced and efficient workload, and produce high-quality work with speed and accuracy
  • Ability to work across team cultures, collaborate, and interact effectively and diplomatically with persons at all levels of organizations
