Job Summary

The University of Utah Office for Global EngagementOGEprovides campus-wide leadership and coordination in support of University of Utah global initiatives, partnerships, and programs. The Administrative & Finance Manager provides executive administrative support to the Chief Global Officer and serves as the department accountant. The Administrative & Finance Manager is the main liaison for the leadership of Global Engagement and assists in overseeing the day to day operations of the department.


1.Office manager for Global Engagement

2.Provide executive administrative support to the Chief Global Officer

3.Assist department with the development of department budget

4.Maintain accounts and billings

5.Monitor budget to insure limits are not exceeded

6.Oversee HR responsibilities such as new hires, payroll, and liaison to department HR rep

7.Assist the University of Utah Asia Campus Board of Directors

8.Assist Chief Administrative Officer for the University of Utah Asia Campus on irregular basis

9.Process University of Utah Asia Campus’ main campus expenses

10.Coordinate international delegation site visits to the University of Utah’s main campus

11.Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education). Three years experience that includes specific involvement in maintaining complex financial records, developing and monitoring departmental budgets and preparing related reports; and demonstrated organizational, human relation and effective communication skills.

Required knowledge/skills:

•Advanced knowledge in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and AdobePro

•Knowledgeable in University of Utah accounting system

•Knowledgeable in University of Utah policy and procedures

•Comfortable interacting with people of a wide range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds at all levels of an organization, both inside and outside the University

•Ability to work independently and take initiative in accomplishing and prioritizing tasks


•Knowledgeable in international issues and experience working with people from other countries

•Beginner in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Audition preferred
