Provides complex administrative support for department management related to clinical services.
This job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification. 1.Assists Group Practice Leader Faculty with business planning and goal setting.
2.Provides support to the School of Dentistry Students and the Attending Clinical Faculty team.
3.Schedules, plans and coordinates work according to clinical needs.
4.Collects, organizes and analyzes data for specialized clinical reports.
5.Prepares correspondence, establishes and maintains confidential files.
6.Coordinates the collection and preparation of operating reports.
7.Assists with the implementation of department and University policies and procedures.
8.Provides administrative support to upper level department management by scheduling
9.appointments, and coordinating meetings.
10.Assists in tracking and maintaining patient records for the School of Dentistry.
11.Acts as a liason between the faculty and student dentists in the assignment of patients and the coordination of their care.
12.Ensures that all related new patient appointments for care are secured in a timely manner.
13.Responsible for collaborating with student dentists and members of the care delivery team to triage, coordinate, and consistently manage the patient care experience.
14.Coordinates the attending schedule and assignment of attendings to student dentists.
15.Acts as an assistant to the Clinic Manager, Group Practice Leaders, and other clinical faculty as assigned for all administrative and scheduling needs.
16.Acts to ensure proper infection control, clinic policies, and processes are followed.
17.Assists in the orientation, education, and training of dental students on clinic procedures and protocols.
18.Adheres to standards set by OSHA , HIPAA , FERPA , CODA and other standards set by the department.
19.Participates in committees and discussions regarding clinic operations, materials, protocols, and/or quality assurance.
This position plans and expedites the flow of work while ensuring the smooth operation of the department under the pressure of frequent interruptions and changes in priorities. Requires daily problem solving and mult-tasking. Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor in stressful or difficult situations.
Associate degree in business or equivalency (2 years related work experience may be substituted for 1 year of education) and three years full-time secretarial experience required. Demonstrated human relations and effective written and verbal communication skills required. Knowledge of basic bookkeeping practices and direct supervisory experience preferred.
This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
